To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Arizona Boardwalk is introducing the all-new The Boardwalk SkyWheel, an 80-foot-tall Ferris wheel designed to bring a fresh perspective to one of Arizona’s favorite entertainment destinations.
Set to open in mid-to-late April 2026, this new addition blends scenic views, thoughtful design, and a unique experience that feels just as fitting for a casual afternoon as it does for a memorable night out.
A New Landmark in Scottsdale
Positioned just behind Butterfly Wonderland, the SkyWheel is already becoming a recognizable part of the Scottsdale skyline—even visible from the Loop 101. Once at the top, riders are treated to panoramic views stretching across the Valley, including iconic desert landscapes and mountain ranges like Camelback, McDowell, and Four Peaks.
It’s a side of Arizona that even longtime locals don’t always get to experience.
Designed for Arizona Living
What sets the SkyWheel apart isn’t just the view—it’s the comfort. Built specifically with Arizona’s climate in mind, the ride features 18 fully enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas, making it a year-round attraction, even during the summer months.
Each gondola accommodates up to six people, making it an easy option for families, date nights, or small group outings.
A Ride That Transforms Day to Night
Each ride lasts about 5 to 8 minutes, giving guests plenty of time to take in the scenery while enjoying soft onboard music. As the sun sets, the experience shifts completely—LED lighting transforms the wheel into a glowing centerpiece, adding a vibrant energy to the entire Boardwalk area.
Whether you visit during the day or at night, the experience feels completely different—and equally memorable.
Accessible and Easy to Add to Your Day
Pricing is designed to be approachable, with tickets starting at $9 for the first rider and $6 for each additional guest in the same gondola. Visitors can also bundle the SkyWheel with other attractions at Arizona Boardwalk for added value, making it easy to turn a quick visit into a full afternoon or evening experience.
More Than Just a Ride
Beyond the views and design, the SkyWheel represents something bigger for Arizona Boardwalk. As part of the 10-year milestone, nearly 200 team members signed panels within the structure itself—creating a lasting tribute to the people behind the destination.
It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the larger goal: creating experiences that people remember.
A New Must-Do in the Valley
Whether you’re new to the area, hosting out-of-town guests, or just looking for something different to do in Scottsdale, the Boardwalk SkyWheel is shaping up to be one of those experiences people talk about—and come back to.
From midday rides with clear desert views to glowing evenings under the lights, it’s a simple idea done really well—and a fitting way for Arizona Boardwalk to celebrate a decade in the Valley.
