20 Fun Things to Do in Arizona for Labor Day Weekend 2026

September 3, 2026

Labor Day weekend is almost here, and if you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the house, Arizona has plenty happening.

From Scottsdale pool parties and resort staycations to Sedona escapes, Tucson stargazing and some seriously good food specials, there are so many ways to enjoy the unofficial end of summer.

Whether you’re planning a date night, a family day out, a weekend with friends or just want somewhere fun to spend the extra day off, I rounded up 20 Labor Day weekend ideas happening around Arizona from September 4–7, 2026.

1. Arizona Biltmore

If a full staycation is calling your name, the Arizona Biltmore has an entire weekend of activities planned. Think poolside DJs, a Dive-In Movie under the stars, family treasure hunts, wellness experiences and plenty of opportunities to relax by the pool.

The resort is also offering rooms starting at $250 per night, plus a $25 nightly resort credit and complimentary self-parking as part of its USA250 offer.

Perfect for: A classic Arizona staycation.

2. Adobe Bar & Grille

You could practically spend the entire weekend here because Adobe Bar & Grille has something different happening each day.

Friday brings a fish fry, Saturday has all-day happy hour, and Sunday includes brunch, live music and the restaurant’s Smokeout BBQ featuring mesquite-smoked meats and Southwestern-inspired sides. On Labor Day Monday, martinis are just $10 all day.

Perfect for: Foodies who want to celebrate all weekend.

3. Arizona Science Center

Looking for something indoors with the family? Arizona Science Center will be open on Labor Day with interactive exhibits including FlightZone, CREATE and The W.O.N.D.E.R. Center.

Through September 7, active-duty military members can also receive free general admission for themselves and up to five family members.

Perfect for: Families looking to escape the September heat.

4. Fire At Will

Burger lovers, put this one on your list.

On Monday, September 7, Fire At Will is offering its popular Hush Burger for just $10. It comes with two smash patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and fancy sauce on a brioche bun, served with fries.

Perfect for: A casual Labor Day lunch.

5. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

Grimaldi’s is keeping its Red, White and BBQ seasonal menu around for the holiday. Expect Barbecue Chicken Pizza, Celebration Cheesecake, seasonal cocktails and the Liberty Cooler Blue Mocktail.

Perfect for: An easy family lunch or dinner.

6. Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock

Want to get out of the Valley completely? A weekend surrounded by Sedona’s red rocks sounds pretty good.

Labor Day weekend rates start at $379 per night, while a separate local staycation offer gives qualifying Arizona and neighboring-state residents 25% off the best available rate, complimentary parking and two welcome cocktails or mocktails with a two-night minimum.

Perfect for: A last-minute road trip.

7. Hotel Valley Ho

Hotel Valley Ho is bringing the party to the OH Pool all weekend, with resident DJs playing from 1–5 p.m. Friday through Monday.

Make a full day of it with brunch or dinner at ZuZu, cocktails by the pool or a little extra relaxation at VH Spa.

Perfect for: A Scottsdale pool day.

8. Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas

The CIMA Poolside Summer Sendoff takes over Kimpton Miralina on September 5 and 6, with specialty cocktails and mocktails, poolside tapas and live DJ sets for cabana guests.

The Paradise Valley resort has six pools, plus Spa Miralina if you’d rather spend the weekend getting a massage or trying a cold plunge.

Perfect for: One last summer pool weekend.

9. Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria

Why not turn Labor Day into a little Arizona wine-country road trip?

Merkin Vineyards in Cottonwood will offer holiday specials from September 4–7, including housemade sweet corn gnocchi and an 18-ounce Tuscan ribeye for two, alongside its regular farm-to-table menu.

And those vineyard views don’t hurt either.

Perfect for: A foodie day trip from Phoenix.

10. Mountain Shadows

Mountain Shadows might have one of the most relaxing Labor Day schedules on this list.

The weekend includes Champagne sabering, sunset yoga, poolside DJs accompanied by live saxophone or violin, an aerial stretch and sound bath, and a Sunday morning sound-healing session.

Perfect for: Wellness with a side of pool time.

11. No. 37 Golf Lounge

Want to golf without actually standing outside in the Arizona heat?

No. 37 Golf Lounge inside Adobe Bar & Grille features Trackman-powered indoor golf simulators with access to more than 500 courses from around the world.

Bring a few friends, order food and cocktails and turn it into a little friendly competition.

Perfect for: Golf lovers who prefer air conditioning.

12. Queen B Vinyl Café

If you’re already heading toward Cottonwood, add Queen B Vinyl Café to your itinerary.

Browse the record shop and grab its Labor Day special, a $15 Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with garlic fries, available September 4–7.

Perfect for: A laid-back Cottonwood afternoon.

13. SanTan Brewing

Start Saturday with Brunch Bingo from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at SanTan Gardens, where your $25 ticket includes brunch, your first drink and a chance to win prizes.

Then on Monday, SanTan’s Downtown Chandler brewpub will serve Labor Day brunch from 9 a.m.–2 p.m., along with a special Rib & Brisket Plate.

Perfect for: Brunch with a little more entertainment.

14. Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass

Sometimes the best long-weekend plan is simply finding a pool and staying there.

Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass will have special poolside bites and drinks throughout Labor Day weekend, including St. Louis-style pork ribs with prickly pear glaze and seasonal cocktails.

Perfect for: A relaxing resort day.

15. The REMI. Scottsdale

If you want more of a party atmosphere, head up to the 12th floor.

The REMI. Scottsdale is hosting Above All at Allegra from September 4–7, bringing DJs, craft cocktails and poolside festivities to Allegra Rooftop Pool & Bar.

Day passes start at $50, and hotel guests receive complimentary access.

Perfect for: A rooftop pool party in Old Town.

16. The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa

If you’re up for a Tucson road trip, The Westin La Paloma is hosting its Great Summer Sendoff September 4–7.

The weekend includes guided excursions, complimentary spa access, Movies Under the Stars, poolside BBQs, s’mores and stargazing, five pools and a 177-foot waterslide.

Perfect for: A family weekend getaway.

17. Stargazing & Cosmic Cocktails

While you’re at The Westin La Paloma, there’s another experience worth putting on your calendar.

On Saturday, September 5 from 8–10 p.m., professional stargazer Jimmy Pastore will lead an evening of stargazing, science, storytelling and astrophotography, with celestial-themed cocktails available at La Luz.

This might be one of the most unique ideas on the entire list.

Perfect for: A different kind of date night.

18. Thirsty Lion

Not every Labor Day plan needs to be elaborate.

Thirsty Lion will be open for the holiday with its seasonal menu and happy hour from 3–6 p.m., with food specials starting at $7.95 and cocktail specials starting at $8.95.

Perfect for: A casual get-together with friends.

19. W Scottsdale

Old Town is going nautical for the weekend.

W Scottsdale’s Anchored celebration runs September 4–7 at the WET Deck, with DJs, handcrafted cocktails and a different theme each day, including Permission to Board Friday, White Heat Saturday, Anchor Down Sunday and On Deck Monday.

Day passes start at $50, with cabanas and VIP experiences also available.

Perfect for: Anyone who wants to end summer with a party.

20. Windsor Labor Day Block Party

For something a little more laid-back and family-friendly, Windsor is celebrating Labor Day Monday with a neighborhood block party.

Brunch runs from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., with a BrewBox x Churn pop-up from 8 a.m.–noon, a photobooth from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., games for the kids and an exclusive Windsor tote for the first 100 guests.

Perfect for: A fun Labor Day morning with the whole family.

Make the Most of the Long Weekend

This is one of the things I love most about living in Arizona. You can spend Saturday at a Scottsdale resort, wake up Sunday and road-trip to Sedona or Cottonwood, then come home for brunch or a pool day on Monday.

There’s always something new happening, and Labor Day weekend is a perfect excuse to explore a little more of what we have right in our backyard.

If you try anything on this list, let me know which one you picked. And if you’re thinking about relocating to Arizona, I’m always happy to help you find not only the right home, but the community and lifestyle that feel right for you.
